A total of 180 carriages, including control
trailers and restaurant cars, will form a to-
tal of 20 nine-carriage sets with a seating
capacity of 555 and top operating speed
of 230 km/h to act as the flagship of
Czech Railways' long-distance fleet. In the
coming years, the operator will be using
them on the most important international
services to Berlin, Hamburg, Vienna, and
Budapest.
The ComfortJet set was also tested to-
day by Martin Kupka, Minister of Tran-
sport, and Michal Krapinec, CEO of
Czech Railways.
"The new ComfortJet set shows the leap
in quality that our national operator's fleet
has taken in recent years. It is the increa-

Minister of Transport, after his first ride on

ComfortJet's maximum speed of 230
km/h showcases an advanced trainset
that Czech Railways can also operate on
high-speed lines, the preparation of which
is moving ahead in our country to further
improve railway connections between our
regions and between the Czech Republic
and all parts of Europe."
"The ComfortJet sets feature the most
advanced features on the European rail
market, offering greater passenger comfort
for business and pleasure travel alike. We

Even before the summer started, the first passengers were able to ride the ComfortJet,
Czech Railways' most advanced long-distance train. Czech Railways expect to first
deploy these trains on selected Prague-Bohumín and Bohumín-Prague-Františkovy
Lázně services in a temporary eight-carriage arrangement without the control trailer
and restaurant car. Currently, steps are being taken to hand over the first set made
by the consortium of Siemens Mobility and Škoda Group to Czech Railways.
