to Czech companies
In addition to First- and Second-Class sec-
tions, the scenic train also includes the
Prestige section. In this part of the train,
up to 18 passengers can enjoy views from
their swivelling, electrically adjustable se-
ats made by the Czech brand Borcad. Bor-
cad was established by Ivan Boruta in
1990 as a small design and development
studio and immediately launched its first
products - veterinary tables, birthing beds,
and gynaecological chairs. The company-
's products are highly successful, with so-
me of them even boasting a Red Dot de-
sign award.
The firm's previous major projects inclu-
de seats for the Czech Republic's first
high-speed train, the SuperCity Pendoli-
no. Since 2016, Borcad has focused only
on making seats for rail transport, empha-
sising travel comfort and innovative de-
sign solutions.
The supplier of cables that was selected
by Borcad in this project was LAPP Czech
Republic s.r.o., a global leader in integra-
ted cables and communication equip-
ment.

Seats for higher passenger safety
and comfort
The Prestige Class offers highly comfor-
table seats with heated cushions and bac-
krests. The motorised lumbar support pro-
vides an ergonomically correct seated
position. The seat also includes two mo-
tors for moving the seat up and down and
for extending the footrest. These functions
make it easy to adjust the seat so that pas-
sengers can always find a comfortable po-
sition to travel in. Another feature is the
ability to swivel the seats through 180°
and secure them against accidental move-
ment with an electromagnet.
The features of the seats found on mo-
dern trains are not limited to comfortable
seating during travel. The seats are also
equipped with a USB connector and two
power sockets - Swiss and European. This
means that passengers can charge their
mobile phones, tablets, and other electro-
nics while on board.

All these seat features, motor drives, and
the power supply are made possible with

A Luxury Swiss Train with

The GoldenPass Express has extended the range of Swiss panoramic train experiences.
Packed with technology, the new train runs between Interlaken and Montreux.
The scenic train covers this route in 3 hours and 15 minutes. The comfort
of the passengers in all travel classes is provided by seats made
by Borcad of Fryčovice.
