We have a comprehensive
solution for you!
The issue of air extraction and ventilation
in die casting foundries is a very complex
one. These are highly demanding plants
with a complicated structure of the air
mass to be extracted as it contains both
dry smoke and particles of adhesive oil
and a number of other impurities. The
combination of dry and adhesive partic-
les, i.e. "dry" and "wet" air masses, poses
an insurmountable problem for many filt-
ration systems in that it soon causes a ve-
ry short service life of the filter elements
used or it renders the efficiency of the en-
tire system very poor.
The issue deserves comprehensive exami-
nation - the desired effect can only be achi-
eved by combining a high-performance
filtration system with a properly desig-
ned fume hood installed above the ma-
chine.
Absolent of Sweden is among the few
companies worldwide that can deal with
this problem without fail in such a way
that, for example, in Scandinavia, it has al-
most completely pushed out the competi-
tion, holding as much as 90% of the mar-
ket in this region with its electrostatic
filtration system.
Environmental standards are five times
stricter in Sweden than in the Czech Re-
public. It is therefore no wonder that the
level of filtration offered by Absolent sys-
tems is so high that it makes die casting
foundries look like any other light engine-
ering plant.
How does it work?
The fume hood must meet a number of
requirements - first of all, its design must
always be sufficient to handle the impact
exhaust of contaminated air mass on the
basis of the machine's operating cycle. In
addition, the fume hood must also feature
a split design with manual or motorised
travel to enable the crane to change
moulds in the machine. Hood lighting and
other features are also important, depen-
ding on the specific design of the plant.
Aosmoke series filter units of different
capacities are always used to provide the
actual filtration. Aosmoke filter systems by
Absolent are among the best-performing
filters worldwide in terms of extracting oil
fumes and highly polluted oil and emulsi-
on aerosols. They boast extremely low
operating costs and are especially appre-
ciated for the long service life of the filter
element, which is one to six years of ope-
ration without the need for replacement.
Filtration takes place in three stages. The
first and second stages consist of high-ca-
pacity self-draining filter cartridges (after
saturation to a certain level, the captured
medium flows down freely and is collec-
ted in a tank at the bottom of the unit).
The filter material used corresponds to the
given application. The third filtration stage
(HEPA filter) guarantees the separation of
99.99% of particles 0.3 µm in diameter.
Because of their design, Absolent oily
smoke filters can be operated continuous-
ly without operational constraints. The
unusually large filtration surface, especial-
ly in the first filtration stage, and the abili-
ty to release the captured medium from a
certain degree of saturation enable the
system to achieve extraordinarily long

Did you know that a medium-sized die casting machine in your plant can produce
over 1,000 kg of sticky, dirty particles every year?

ARE YOUR WORKERS BREATHING CONTAMINATED AIR?
Oily smoke can affect the functioning of your workers' lungs and cause skin problems such as eczema.
ARE YOUR ENERGY COSTS HIGH?
Polluted air requires frequent changes of air in the building and reduces the service life of general
ventilation filters, resulting in high energy costs.
ARE YOU WORKING IN A POLLUTED WORK ENVIRONMENT?
Oily smoke pollution contaminates the work environment, leading to increased cleaning and maintenance costs.
ARE YOU CONCERNED ABOUT EXCEEDING THE EMISSION LIMITS?
The oily smoke generated during die casting can exceed the regulatory emission limits for air pollution.
