VÚKV A.S. – RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT
AND TESTING OF ROLLING STOCK
VÚKV is a Czech joint-stock company based in Prague which owns an experimental
testing laboratory (accredited testing laboratory no. 1085) at the Railway
Testing Circuit in Cerhenice (50 km east of Prague). It can boast
an almost 170-year-long tradition of research, development
and production of rail vehicles in Prague
and the Czech Republic.
The Škoda 35T trams, in the construction of which
the company played a significant role,
are successful in the German city of Chemnitz.
The company's activities include research,
development and testing of railway vehicles, their parts and other components in
the field of transport engineering. It also
offers advisory and consulting services in
these areas.
The company's customers are domestic
and foreign manufacturers of rail vehicles
and transport equipment, repair facilities,
infrastructure managers, and operators.
The company's goal is to offer complete
project solutions corresponding to the latest technology and resulting in satisfied
customers and users, not only in the
Czech Republic, but also in many other
countries around the world. The activities

American company Dun & Bradstreet, a
global leader in the provision of economic
and marketing information about business
entities, and VÚKV a.s. was awarded the

The company participates in applied research in the fields of bogies, underframe
construction for car bodies, interior vehicle equipment, mechanical parts for drives
and brake systems, the interaction of the
vehicle and the track or the vehicle and
the environment, strength, driving characteristics, as well as test methods and equipment. We work closely with other research and development institutes and
technical universities in the Czech Republic. We participate significantly in research
tasks supported by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic and in projects

is a corporate member of Interdisziplinärer
Forschungsverbund Bahntechnik e.V. in
Berlin. Experts from VÚKV also give lectures at universities. As part of applied research, many unique test technologies have
been developed at VÚKV, such as instrumented measuring wheelsets or a mobile
