Insulated bearings with PPS coating

To prevent electrical damage to the bearing, NSK has developed insulated bearings with a special ceramic or PPS coating on the surface of the outer ring.

Insulated bearings have high insulation resistance and high resistance to damage.

The insulation resistance of these bearings

is not reduced, even at 110 °C.

Traction motors use insulated roller and

ball bearings.

Bearings with an insulated surface are

provided in standard dimensions, no special preparation of the opening is therefore required for their installation.

Insulated bearings with ceramic coating

wear-resistant design and a higher number of rollers.

The high strength of the cage provides

excellent performance in vibrating equipment. The service life of these bearings is

They have to meet a very wide range of

requirements. These include a combination of different loads - high static and dynamic radial loads, radial impact loads,

and axial loads. In addition, the axle plays

a critical role in railway safety, therefore

regular inspections must be carried out

including dismantling, inspecting, maintaining, and reassembling the components.

A reliable and simple disassembly and reassembly procedure is therefore another

important factor.

Tapered roller bearings, roller bearings,

and spherical roller bearings are used in

the axles of rail vehicles based on the benefits of each type.

To improve operational efficiency, axle

bearings must also provide longer inspection intervals. Based on all of these requirements, satisfactory solutions have been

offered.

These have to withstand high loads and

high speeds and it is essential that they are

highly resistant to rolling motion, impacts,

and extreme temperatures. Therefore, rolling bearings with robust cages are most

often used.

NSK EM series roller bearings
