p How has your company
historically arrived at making
tools for high-performance and
precise machining?
p How do you keep pace with
the competition? Do you have
your own development?
We definitely have several such products,
but it is definitely worth highlighting the
DC170 sintered carbide drill, the "icon"
of drilling. A universal drill for steel and
cast iron. Its unique and innovative
design features radially ground facets,
special geometry and modified cooling,
which allows it to achieve high
productivity even when drilling through
transverse openings or slanted surfaces. I
would also definitely mention our
SUPREME line, which this drill is a part of.
Yes, we put great emphasis on developing
new products. We have a separate development department for each tool type so
that we can keep pace or even be a bit
ahead of the competition.
p What are your reference
projects? What are all the places
where your tools are used in the
aerospace industry?
I think we had to develop these tools partly due to demand on the market and also
to stay competitive and be able to meet
the requirements of customers.
p Could you pick out a single
product from your portfolio that
you consider central?
Can you introduce it a little
and show what makes it unique?
Our reference in the aerospace industry is
Latecoere Czech, where we are one of
the suppliers of tools for certain types of
machining.

p What can your company offer
for machining aluminium alloys?
Walter can offer a number of products,
from classic SC tools to tools fitted with indexable inserts designed for Al alloys, to
high-performance PCD tools. Once again,
we try to develop new and powerful tools,
such as DC165 and DC166 drills for drilling aluminium alloys, the already mentioned M2131 milling cutters with indexable
inserts and, of course, a range of special
tools with soldered PCD (polycrystalline
diamond) exactly to the customer's specifications.
